INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY
Walter Mong'are aka Nyambane says," safe spaces for the youth is about identifying your talent as a youth and that is your safe space. Work on building yourself from that point with the available resources. From there you seek out government offices and make follow up on how you can benefit from policies and programs put out to benefit you. " The hashtag this is #Internationalyouthday #spaceikohusika #safespacesforyouth

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
Just this morning, i came across a post by Zumi Kenya of a young south African girl who committed suicide after being raped by her boyfriend. After it happened she kept sharing subliminal on social media; Instagram to be specific. Her last post was her sunrise and sunset date with a message:" NO ONE DESERVES TO BE RAPED!! "
This got me thinking, how many times do we go through life barely not having anyone we can reach out to when things get thick. Truth is, depression is real and mental awareness is now openly discussed. This is positive growth in our society. I believe with safe spaces for people to come and share, we can help save some's life. Sometimes all one needs is a listening ear.
Be a friend to someone today. Check up on that friend who seems strong and happy all the time. Let us be our brothers and sisters keepers.
Love and light
